When Marco Zanuso presented it at the Milan Triennale in 1951, it won the gold medal — and it changed the way the world thought about seating. Revolutionary for its use of polyurethane foam and a new elastic band spring system, it proved that industrial materials could deliver comfort, beauty, and innovation simultaneously.

This pair is the 2015 Cassina re-edition, which honours Zanuso's original design while incorporating contemporary construction refinements.
