MAH JONG by HANS HOPFER for ROCHE BOBOIS

€0.00
sold out

Just like the hippies, seeking liberation from conventions, this sofa broke with all traditional rules of furniture design. Born in a time of freedom and renewal, this modular sofa perfectly reflects the spirit of that time - free, flexible, and unconventional. By creating three simple elements, Hans Hopfer was able to offer infinite possibilities; it can be a chair, a sofa, a daybed, or even a complete living space. More than 50 years later, the Mah Jong remain a symbol of innovation and freedom; dressed in fabrics by famous designers, offering a new way of sitting, living, and being together, reflecting the core values of that time: freedom, creativity, and breaking traditional boundaries.

We are fortunate to offer this original version from the zero’s; consisting of five elements that together tell a story of creativity and adaptability. Our set includes: two straight backs, a corner element and two cushions. This configuration reflects the essence of its design: the freedom to shape spaces according to our wishes and adapt to our needs. Because of the original condition (Missoni Home Fabric) this set has visible signs of use and discoloration; telling a story of sunbeams that fell through windows, of conversations that continued into the late hours.
